Word on the street (well, the hollywood reporter) is that screen writer Gary Ross has been tapped to rewrite Sam Raimi’s SPIDERMAN 4.  Ross, who’s credits include BIG, DAVE, PLEASANTVILLE, SEABISCUT and the upcoming remake to THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON will be taking the reigns over from previous writers James Vanderbilt (who wrote Zodiac) and David Lindsay-Abaire (who won something called the Pulitzer Prize).

This will be the third movie that Ross has written for Tobey Magurie, the previous two being PLEASANTVILLE and SEABISCUT.  No word yet on who the villain of the film will be, but personally, I want Black Cat to finally make it to the big screen damnit!
